E-examiner S-student
E: We’ve been talking about an intelligent person and I’d like to discuss with you one or two more questions related to this. Let’s begin with, first of all, smart people. So, are smart people happier than others?
S: No, I don’t think so. I think happiness is
what you define it. For example, for me,
you don’t have to be smart, to be happier. Because when
I can have a nice meal with my friend, or have a coffee with my friends
or like, have a group discussion already the
happiness for me. And for the smarter people, they may have like difficul, more difficult goals to achieve. For example,
their design… they, they, they would like to publish a paper, and
once they achieve such a achievement, they will be happier,
they will be happy. But to be honest, because they
have higher standards, so they might feel, they might, less
able to feel happier, or even happy.
E: So, in your opinion, are smart people sometimes quite selfish?
S: No, I know someone who is smart and compassionate
at the same time. And I don’t think they are conflict with each others,
two elements. For example, as we know the most smart person
like, the CEO of Facebook, sorry I don’t
remember his name, Zacberg, I think, yeah. Like,
he is smart person, but at the same time she also did lots of…
like… volunteer jobs and something
contribute to our societies.
E: OK. Thank you. Why do you think some children are more intelligent than others?
S: Because their performance, because some children are
would like to, I mean, some childrens
are more extrovert, so they are more like to talking to
peoples, or presenting their strength. So,
according to their performance or achievements, for example, the… their homework, I saw some childrens are more intelligent than other
children.
E: Do you think that by being intelligent it’s easier to be successful?
S: Well, I still say it depends. It depends on how we define
S success. To be honest, as a ordinary
people, when I have a stable income, and {lip smacking noise} I have a stable
network. I also have my own interest, or and
something else, I mean… have the time and
energy to do some business of my own. I feel success already. But
for some intelligent people, they have higher standards, so, for example, they have would like to earn about 1000
million dollars, US dollars per year. So, th…
that’s means the success to them. So, in that case, I don’t think
the smarter people, who has the difficulty, more difficult
goals, would… {lip smacking noise} like be easier to
success.
E: So, who plays the biggest role in a child’s development, the teacher or the parent?
S: Pardon?
E: Who plays the biggest role in a child’s development, the teacher or the parent?
S: {lip smacking noise} It’s hard to say, because… but I would, I would
choose parents. Because for a children, most of
his or her time were spent with her parents. And lots
of knowledges, and happies… habits and all the emotions
are come from her, the children's parents…
S… so, I think the parents plays bigger roles.
E: OK, thank you very much. That’s the end of the speaking test.
